It's been a little while that little Alexia posed in front of my camera for her very first professionally created portraits! And what a natural she was at just that - smiles all the way!

Her parents had chosen the incredible Elizabeth F Gamble Garden in Palo Alto for the portraits of their beautiful daughter. And so we went, a team of caring parents and the photographer, carefully placing little Alexia on a dreamy little cushion in midst a sea of flowers.

Together we created a story of life and love and beauty for Alexia's new family. And what an experience - six month old Alexia wasn't like any other - she couldn't stop laughing! I think she's a true lover of life, happily giggling to the "vaca loca" cartoon her beautiful mommy put on to entertain her! It made me realize so many things that we as adults often forget - being in the moment! To us adults, what stood out was that the day was overcast and that we missed the presence of the sun. Not to Alexia - she loved the flowers and laughed and smiled and wiggled her little hands, no matter the day or weather or other perceived obstacles toward happiness!

More importantly though, she didn't just smile for herself - she passed her joy on to all of us and made us spend a morning of sunshine and laughter when actually there was no sun in the sky. See for yourself in the cute little video below how much happiness she created for all of us!

I believe this is what makes life so special - not the smiles you create for yourself. Happiness and gratification does not come from enjoying and savoring beauty and joy alone - it comes from sharing it with others. Little Alexia is aware of this beautiful foundation of life so early on in life. When we adults sometimes forget these things, we can look at our little ones and newcomers for wisdom and skills of love and life - as it is all right there, within the depths of a tiny little heart but a vast and beautiful soul of a beautiful child. <3
